fail2ban 使用了可预测的 /tmp 文件，本地用户可以在 fail2ban 之前分配这些文件。所有 tmp 文件已被移至 /var/lib/fail2ban。这也有助于执行 selinux 策略。另一个与安全有关的修复是 fail2ban 默认为与 selinux 冲突的 gamin，因此用户通常必须在 fail2ban 和 selinux 之间作出选择。 fail2ban 现在默认为 inotify（感谢 Jonathan Underwood）。
另外还修复了一些次要缺陷：
- 针对 tmpfs /var/run 的 tmpfiles.d 支持
- 示例邮件域已更改为规范化的 example.com。
