Synopsis

The remote Red Hat 5 host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities that will not be patched.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 5 host has one or more packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities that have been acknowledged by the vendor but will not be patched.

 - xsa201 xen: ARM guests may induce host asynchronous abort (XSA-201) (CVE-2016-9818)

 - Xen through 4.7.x allows local ARM guest OS users to cause a denial of service (host panic) by sending an asynchronous abort. (CVE-2016-9815)

 - Xen through 4.7.x allows local ARM guest OS users to cause a denial of service (host crash) via vectors involving an asynchronous abort while at EL2. (CVE-2016-9816)

 - Xen through 4.7.x allows local ARM guest OS users to cause a denial of service (host crash) via vectors involving a (1) data or (2) prefetch abort with the ESR_EL2.EA bit set. (CVE-2016-9817)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied on the package manager's report that the package is installed.

Solution

The vendor has acknowledged the vulnerabilities but no solution has been provided. Refer to the vendor for remediation guidance.
