Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing a security update for polkit.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 7 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the RHSA-2019:0230 advisory.

 - polkit: Temporary auth hijacking via PID reuse and non-atomic fork (CVE-2019-6133)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL polkit package based on the guidance in RHSA-2019:0230.
